課程概述 |
This course is suited to master students and above who are interested in learning about qualitative research methods. This course is designed to introduce students to the theory behind qualitative research and a number of research methods. |
課程目標 |
To enable students to develop the skills to employ qualitative research methods in undertaking nursing research.
On completion of this course, successful students will be able to:
1.Understand the philosophical principles of undertaking qualitative research applied to health settings.
2.Explain and critical discuss the principal qualitative methods that can be deployed to undertake research as a means of exploring a range of important nursing issues.
3.Compare and construct the ways in which qualitative data may be collected, analyzed and used in nursing research.
4.Present qualitative research findings. |
課程要求 |
1.Mid-term assignment (45%): written assignment
Weeks 8: Submit an interview topic, interview guide and a plan of conducting and analyzing an interview (60 minutes interview process).
2.Final report (45%): oral presentation and written report
Week 16: Oral presentation in class (15 minutes; Q & A 10 minutes) and submit interview findings based on mid-term interview data. This report should include interview aims, interview time, interview place, rationale of interview guide design, process of interview data analysis, interview findings, interviewer effects, rigor and references.
